Join us in supporting the East African immigrant and refugee community in Seattle by volunteering with HOAS!
Our current volunteer opportunities:
The number one way to get fully involved in the community is to volunteer as a tutor/mentor at one of our after school programs!
Our after school programs assist students in grades 1 through 12 in improving their academic skills and building ties to their communities. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to mentor students, be a role model, and teach good study habits.
We have TWO locations where we are running an after school program - at the Rainier Vista Neighborhood House, and at the New Holly Campus. Volunteers to the Rainier Vista Neighborhood House program serve from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, and volunteers at the New Holly Campus program serve from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.
If you would like to volunteer with us, please complete our volunteer interest form!
If you have questions about volunteer opportunities, please email our volunteer coordinator, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Volunteers to the after school programs must have graduated high school or have a GED. Volunteers under 18 years old must have a signed permission form from parent/guardian. All volunteers will be required to pass a background check.
